CHU, Macquarie Bank, SCA (Vic) Strata in Motion 2020

Day 1 of our 2020 Strata in Motion and three announcements were made by The Hon. Minister Horne, Minister for Consumer Affairs Victoria.

1. To confirm the delayed commencement of the Owners Corporations Act, adopting amendments currently before Parliament,

2. That the Victorian Government is committed to a 2021 post implementation review of the Owners Corporations Amendment (Short Stay Accommodation) Act 2018, and

3. To acknowledge the merit of a licensing scheme for strata managers.

Looks like 2021 is going to be a busy year.

Day 2 and we went from many a serious discussion on the challenges we face, to applause, to good old social banter. As the event organisers it was terrific to see the engagement and interaction as our Members embraced the new style of delivery.

Thanks to so many of our Members for joining us as we changed the game and entered our virtual world for this year’s event. There’s so much we could say about what was shared: the issues, the resolutions, the experience. This year we aimed for sessions and speakers that not only imparted their knowledge in their area of expertise, but as importantly, posed thought provoking questions to encourage delegates to become a part of the solutions. The ‘chat’ and follow on conversations have certainly shown this to be true!

For those of you who did attend the recordings are now available to you, using your existing logins. Which also means as an added bonus you can now attend the alternative breakout session that you missed on the day! Presentations where delivered, will soon be up as resource for you also. Simply visit the Delegate Connect platform, login to your account and click on the session you wish to view via the Agenda. It’s that simple.

PS If you haven’t yet completed the survey that was sent out post event please take some time to provide us with your valuable feedback. If you don’t let us know about your experience how can we change what we need to and continue with what worked well. Over to you, thank you!
