In July 2021 the Australian Industry Skills Committee endorsed an update to the Certificate IV in Strata Community Management. At that meeting they also commissioned a project to update CPP51119 Diploma of Property (Agency Management) to include a professional stream for Strata Management Principles.
This project will review CPP50316 Diploma of Strata Community Management to select the most pertinent units of competency which will be updated and incorporated into CPP51119 Diploma of Property (Agency Management) as a specialist stream. On endorsement of the updated qualification, CPP50316 will be deleted from the National Training Register.
The addition of a professional stream to the Diploma of Property (Agency Management) will provide already highly skilled practitioners with the opportunity to ensure that their knowledge and training stay current and in line with new developments in the field. It will reflect the role of Senior Strata Manager and Strata Agency Principals who apply knowledge compliance requirements and ethical standards and who are responsible and accountable for the work of others.
This project will consider the specific functions associated with managing strata communities, including assessing and implementing strata community management agreements, analysing and commenting on management reports prepared for strata communities, life cycle asset management plans, and implementing maintenance programs for managed properties.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to strata community management in some States. Relevant state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements.
